At Yelp, we’re passionate about connecting people with great local businesses. Yelp is the richest source of local data in the world and we’re constantly working to relay our 100M+ reviews to the millions of mobile and web Yelpers around the globe. We believe in pushing our engineers to tackle challenges they’ve never faced before and in giving them the freedom and support to come up with new and interesting ideas.

Software Engineer - Application Backend (Hamburg, DE)

Millions of business owners use Yelp to connect with more than 100+ million potential customers. But we’re just scratching the surface. There are over 20 million businesses in a $150+ billion local ad market in the US alone. Our small team does it all. They tame MySQL replication one day, implement a brand-new feature the next, and push it all out that night. They love being responsible for whole systems, and they love scaling those systems to the next level. But what really keeps the code flowing? Daily release cycle, baby!

Software Engineer - Full Stack (Hamburg, DE)

Our full stack engineers bridge the gap between backend data and the frontend websites of Yelp. Their goal is to provide the best user experience to millions of business owners and they’re excited to dive into any area of the web stack to make it happen.

Full stack engineers rarely have a typical day: one day they might be writing HTML/CSS/JavaScript and another they might be discussing the best approach to making our web apps work in our service oriented architecture.

Software Engineer - Infrastructure (London, UK)

Yelp’s Infrastructure teams design, implements, and maintains scalable software architectures that are at the heart of our technology. We do everything from build performance monitoring tools, design APIs and develop libraries, to creating speedy and reliable infrastructure that’s easy to use for our relevance/machine learning developers.

Do you dream in service oriented architectures? Do you enjoy profiling and getting the last bits of performance out of complex systems? We do too :)! You might have used one of our open source projects like mrjob, pyleus, or firefly. Or maybe you’ve read our blog post on how we manage Elasticsearch using Apollo. We help enable hundreds of engineers to safely and quickly deploy their features into production while serving millions of active Yelp users. If this sounds like you, join the team that is the glue that connects Yelp’s feature teams to their underlying software infrastructure - in the data centers, up in the cloud, or anywhere in between.
