Stephan is currently a software engineer at Yelp, spearheading the backend for the Yelp app for business owners. Before that, he worked on the Yelp consumer app.
Stephan studied business informatics at the University of Magdeburg (Germany) and founded a company with two fellow students. It created the state's most popular online community and published a printed city magazine / event guide. After many years of struggling with PHP, he finally started learning Python in 2008 and has never looked back. He also dabbled with C++ and Java.
