I am staff scientist in the LIGO project, based at the California Institute of Technology. I have worked on many aspects of gravitational wave detection over the years, from laser light sources, to algorithms for low-latency data analysis. I'm currently interested in problems of detector control, and am the developer of the LIGO automation system. I have a B.S. in physics from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University in the City of New York.
